Volunteer for a leadership position on the Broomfield County Democrats, participate on our Rules or Platform Committees, and/or represent us within the Multi-County Central and Vacancy Committees. We need your energy and ideas!
On Thursday, February 2, 2023, the Broomfield County Democrats will hold its biennial Reorganization Meeting on Zoom from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Central Committee members will receive their credentials beginning at 6:00 pm and the meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. This is an opportunity to gain experience in organizing, influencing, and getting to know the people involved in our political system. Nominations for any of the offices will be accepted by email up through February 1, 2023. Contact Neil Allaire at chair@broomfielddems.org if you are interested in running.
There are several opportunities to serve in a leadership position with your Broomfield County Democratic party. Please consider nominating yourself or others. This is an opportunity to become part of a political organization in your community where you can make a difference. We have an amazing team who is contributing to our vibrant community.
At the Reorganization Meeting, the Central Committee will vote to elect all of the members of the Executive Committee for a two-year term (2023 & 2024).
Members of the Central Committee include:
- Current members of the Executive Committee
- Democratic elected officials living in the City & County of Broomfield
- Precinct Organizers.
The following people have put their names in to run at the 2023 Reorg:
- Chair – Neil Allaire
- Vice Chair – Sasha Davis
- Treasurer – Ben Ragsdale
- Election Liaison – Rob Sprecher
- Political Strategist – Nick Bongiardina
- Communications Coordinator – Larry Batten
Chair
- The Chair shall be the chief executive officer of the party. The Chair may appoint other volunteer personnel to manage the business and financial affairs of the party. The Chair shall administer the budget as approved by the central committee.
- Meetings and calls. The Chair shall issue the call to all central and executive committee meetings. The executive committee shall meet monthly, unless the executive committee votes on a waiver of the monthly meeting. There shall be at least one central committee meeting in each calendar year. The Chair shall issue the call for all assemblies and conventions.
- Presiding officer. The Chair shall be the presiding officer of executive and central committee meetings, and a member of all committees within the party. He shall have the deciding vote in all central committee meetings, but shall not otherwise vote at any meetings of the central or executive committee.
- The Chair, with the advice of the central and executive committees, shall conduct all county campaigns.
Vice Chair
- The Vice Chair shall do everything necessary to assist the Chair in carrying out the duties of Chair.
- In addition, the First Vice-Chair shall provide leadership for organizational activities and for voter education and awareness.
- In the absence of the Chair, the First Vice-Chair shall preside at all meetings and exercise all authority of the Chair.
Secretary
- The secretary shall keep the minutes of the central and executive committee meetings.
- The secretary shall perform such other duties as required by the Chair, as well as duties as are usually associated with the office of secretary.
Treasurer
- The Treasurer shall have custody of the funds of the party and shall render written accounts of receipts and disbursements at each meeting of the central and executive committees.
- The Treasurer shall prepare and file all financial reports required of the political party by federal or state law.
- The Chair shall secure an independent examination of the financial records of the party once during each two (2) year term of the officers, or more often as directed and the Executive Committee allocates funds.
- The Executive or Central Committees may, by resolution, provide for payment by the Treasurer any expenditures within limits fixed by such resolution, at the direction or order of the Chair.
- The Treasurer shall make payments and expenditures of the party funds only at the direction of the Executive or Central Committees.
- The Treasurer shall also be the Chair of the county finance committee.
Fundraising Coordinator
Fundraising Coordinator is a voting member of the Executive Committee and tasks include –
- Coordinate fundraising efforts for the Broomfield County Dems.
- Lead fundraising events with assistance from the Executive Committee and team of volunteers.
- Initiate fundraising efforts and provide assistance and guidance to Executive Committee in meeting fundraising goals.
The time commitment can vary depending upon events and the election cycle. The Broomfield Dems routinely sponsor 7-10 events annually and work on local, state, and national campaigns each year.
Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer Coordinator is a voting member of the Executive Committee and tasks include—
- Recruit volunteers for activities and events held by the BCD.
- Record and maintain a volunteer database.
- Coordinate with the Field Coordinator for the campaign and Get Out the Vote initiatives
- Coordinate with the Field Coordinator to recruit Precinct Organizers for unrepresented precincts.
- Coordinate with the Precinct Organizers to help them find volunteers in their precincts and wards.

We are looking for a strong communicator who can build partnerships within Broomfield. The time commitment can vary depending upon events and the election cycle. The Broomfield Dems routinely sponsor 7-10 events annually and work on local, state, and national campaigns each year.
Field Coordinator
Field Coordinator is a voting member of the Executive Committee and tasks include:
- Recruit, train and coordinate the team of Precinct Leaders,
- Provide support and guidance to Precinct Leaders,
- Help Precinct Leaders plan and organize their precincts,
- Create and coordinate “Get Out The Vote” initiatives,
- Communicate plans and commitments to the Executive Committee, and,
- Coordinate support with other Executive Committee.

Communications Coordinator
The Communications Coordinator is a voting member of the Executive Committee and tasks include:
- Work with website team on creating and editing content;
- Provide guidance on the Broomfield Dems’ social media presence and marketing;
- Act as an Administrator for the Broomfield Dems’ Action Network, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts;
- Create, edit, and distribute monthly email;
- Post original content and share content on social media in collaboration with other EC members;
- Create and edit content, and publish events that the Broomfield Dems are either hosting, sponsoring, or have an interest in; and
- Work with progressive partners to promote events in Broomfield.

Elections Liaison
The Elections Liaison is a voting member of the Executive Committee and tasks include:
- Recruit, manage, and coordinate the team of Elections Judges and Canvass Board members with the City & County Clerk,
- Provide support and guidance to Election Judges,
- Act as main point of contact with the County Clerk,
- Provide data and analysis of elections data available through various sources including the CCOB,
- Coordinate support with other Executive Members.

Event Coordinator
The Event Organizer is a voting member of the Executive Committee and tasks include:
- Lead ad hoc teams throughout the year for events that the Broomfield Dems either hosts or sponsors;
- Provide support and guidance to volunteers who work on events and ad hoc teams;
- Act as main point of contact with the venue providers, communications, and Executive Committee on assigned events,
- Work with event teams, vendors, and communications to assure that events are successful and meet established goals for each event,
- Coordinate support with other Executive Members.

Political Strategist
The Political Strategist is a voting member of the Executive Committee and tasks include:
- Provide analyses, data, and guidance to the Executive Committee on a wide variety of political campaigns that impact Broomfield County.
- Provide analyses, data, and guidance to the Executive Committee on the community of voters and potential voters in Broomfield County.
- Act as part of the Data Team utilizing and maintaining NGB VAN.
- Provide analyses, data, and guidance on the application and use of NGP VAN
- Provide guidance about election and campaign rules and requirements of the Colorado Democratic Party, the City & County of Broomfield, and individual and issue/initiative campaigns.
- Act as the main point of contact with all candidates and initiatives of interest in Broomfield County.
- Coordinate support with the Executive Committee.
