Hey y’all,

We’ve been having some difficulty with figuring out where we are going to continue to hold our meetings, so if you heard we are moving to the BCC it wasn’t false, it’s just one of our options and for now we are staying at Durbar.

The issue we are having is that being at Durbar and providing the buffet does cost a lot and we are not getting enough donations from any avenue to continue to afford it. For this month at least the owners are able to give us a discount, but long term we are likely going to need to change locations regardless. Join us on Thursday and we’ll chat about it!

We’re also going to have the opportunity to meet some candidates this week – Sean McKenzie has filed for the city council race in Ward 4 – he’s a registered Dem and I think you’ll enjoy meeting him a great deal.

AG candidate (for 2026) Michael Doherty is planning to join us as well. And John Mikos for State Treasurer has asked to join us also. Caucus 2026 starts the first week of March so we will be getting the chance to meet more 2026 candidates over the next 8 months as they come to share more about themselves in the hopes their values and policies align with yours and they can ear their vote.

We will have candidates for both this year’s municipal race and 2026 primaries at nearly every meeting (if not all) for the next year. (Come to the meetings, is the not-subtle hint I’m making here).

Unrelated! I have started sorted through 20 years of stored file boxes belonging to the Broomfield Dems. There’s some pretty cool stuff in here – I am scanning everything (because keeping the records doesn’t have to mean keeping the paper) and keeping a few of the most interesting things. I’ll be bringing some stuff for you to look at on Thursday, I figure if I get a kick out of doorhangers from 2012 you might too 🙂 Random notes in the 2005-2012 misc. box that include, “talk to Joe Neguse” with no context is just kind of fun.

We’ll see you Thursday!
